Frequently Asked Questions

Which method of NFP is covered in the classes?

The full scope of the Billings Ovulation Method is used in the NFP classes, while the fertility awareness class does not cover the rules of the method. However, the fertility awareness classes dive deeper into the science behind hormones and mucus types studied in the development of the method as well as charting observations.

Where are you located?

The classes will either take place at Our Lady of Wisdom Catholic Church or a church hall near you. We’ll work together to find a meeting place, and online meetings are an option if needed.

Which charting App do you use?

NFP Charting

What if my availability does not match any listed?

No problem. I’ll do my best to find a time that works for both of us. Email nicole@nfpclasses.com and list the times that you are available.

Does the Billings method work for both achieving and avoiding pregnancy?

Yes. Studies have been conducted with much success for both. Click here to learn more information and access links to the published research on this topic.

Does the Billings method require a thermometer or hormone testing strips?

No. These are not needed for the method.

Will learning fertility awareness “spoil” it for me before learning NFP in marriage prep?

Definitely not! It will most certainly help you to understand your fertility, and this will be a big help when you get to NFP classes in marriage prep. Many girls feel overwhelmed in marriage prep learning all about their fertility at a time when there’s high stress with wedding planning, etc., and sometimes, high pressure to learn it quickly. Taking fertility awareness classes ahead of time gives you a stress-free environment to learn and also an advantage, later on, to learn the full method much more easily.

Is there more information for me to decide if fertility awareness courses are right for me?

This documentary gives some of the background of both the Billings Method and the sexual revolution. I highly recommend renting it, either by yourself or with a group of friends, and learning about something that’s not talked about enough. If you’d like to learn more afterward, sign up for the fertility awareness course!
